wow....
looking at the tags to see what people write about most. seems that people write more about john mayer *who is that, anyway?* than about sex ...but sex is before God. The usual case is that God either slips down in the ranks, or is totally eliminated from the list because there aren't that many people writing about His goodness or how he has moved in their lives.
Here is a story about how God moved in my life, in what may seem a minor thing to many, but the world to me.
Yesterday I realized that I had to go to Walmart and get diapers for my son.
Background info:
The vision:
A few nights ago, * before I realized I needed diapers * I had a
vision of a register coming up with some amount of dollars and 21
cents, and my hand was giving the lady a quarter and a penny so I could
get 5 cents back.
The situation:
Money is over tight...meaning nearly nonexistant in my house right now. The other day, I had gathered together our spare change and come up with $4.38 and I had $2 in my pocket. I spent a dollar on food for my son that day *the day I was with my sis*, and ended up with a dollar in my pocket and the $4.38 I had cashed in at Commerce. So that is all the money I had yesterday: $5.38. I found a penny on the floor earlier in the day so that gave me ....you guessed it... $5.39.
What happened?
Well, my hubby and I were on our way home from church in the afternoon and I asked him to go by Walmart to let me get the diapers. I didn't realize that it was too late to go because he had to get ready for work. We went home and he got ready, left, and then I put the baby down for his nap. He took an extra long nap yesterday. By the time he was waking up, the people upstairs had come home and I had gone to give them a phone message. I went back downstairs to get my baby ready to leave, and we proceeded back up the stairs so we could head out. My friend decided that she needed some peanut butter and asked me if I could get it for her, and I said sure but I wouldn't be back in for a long time. She said she didn't care just as long as it was on the table for the morning. She gave me $2 to get the peanut butter. Then we were off.
It struck me as I looked at the price tag for the small bag of diapers at Walmart that I never had enough money to buy them...they were $5.76 ... well I had figured if that were the case I would just ask someone in the store to help me out. I have no pride, I guess. So I picked up the diapers and went and got the peanut butter. We proceeded to the checkout. God told me not to go to self service, but to go to a person, so we did. The lady at the register rung up our things. Grand total: $7.21 ... I gave her my $5, my friend's $2 and the quarter and penny I had in my pocket. I got a nickel in return. Needless to say I praised God all the way to my mother's house, shared with her my joy, and then shared it with my husband when I returned home. God is so good. He doesn't leave his people begging for bread.
"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his children begging for bread." Psalms 37:25
